Tbh rap culture really put Atlanta on the map. Atlanta is basically black Hollywood and is getting a bunch of recognition from it. Atlanta is booming right now in the entertainment scene.

You're so wrong that it doesn't even deserve a explanation.

How is polo89 wrong? Miami is just as world class as Atlanta in every way, I really don't get what all the anti-Florida sentiments are about here on CD..

All I was saying is that from an outsider's point of view Atlanta is more internationally recognized than some of the cities mentioned. I sense sensitivity from other people from my assessment. Atlanta has had a lot of media coverage recently which has led to it's global popularity.

Atlanta can be world class if it capitalizes on the increased publicity by investing on things such as infrastructure. The film industry has actually generated a LOT of revenue to Atlanta and I expect to see growth for the region in the next few years.

Miami is a world class destination not a world class city. Also I don't have a anti-florida sentiment either.

I have traveled to Miami from London several times and as much as I agree that it is a world class holiday destination, it is not a place where I desire to move to. Outside South Beach and a few other areas, Miami resembles a 3rd world city.

Thank you. I don't think it is hard to comprehend, outside south beach and few other places Miami is almost nothing. Plus it's economy isn't strong enough to be in the likes of Houston let alone NYC, LA, SF, DC and Chicago.

How is a city with a metro population of 6+ million only a "destination" as you say.. Are you implying that all 6+ million residents that live in Miami metro are on some kind of permanent vacation without jobs/professions and are simply there because the beach is pretty?

How is Miami not a world class city, but Houston and Atlanta are? I'm guessing your viewpoint has everything to do with Miami's chief industry being tourism.

I'm talking about the city not the metro area. You know what world class city means right? Let me emphasize the word CITY for you. It's called world class city not world class metro. Also most of those people are Hispanic immigrants from struggling countries such as Cuba and the rest are retirees.
