I agree, I was for it.

Big props to Boston, and my condolences to LA if it gets saddled with a 2 week, multi-billion boondoggle.

Olympics are even worse than the World Cup. At least the World Cup is twice as long, the costs are spread out between cities, and people actually care about the event.

It's too bad there isn't a mountain within a 1.5-2 hour drive of Boston with the necessary vertical drop to host the alpine events. Because if there was, Boston would be a great city to host the winter Olympics.

I will root for whatever city the USOC puts up now that the Boston bid is dead. I don't understand how people can be so negative towards the fact that Boston was the USOC's first choice. I think our best chance of hosting the Olympics next will be the 2026 Winter Olympics and Denver should put up a bid.

LA's mayor seems non committal as to if he will sign the Olympic city guarantee or not.

L.A.'s Mayor Garcetti is mum on financial pledge for 2024 Olympics - LA Times

It may take the IOC changing their stance on the guarantee to see a strong US contender for the games in the foreseeable future.

Nobody is trying to pay tens of billions of dollars to host this 16 day event.

Lack of mountains, that's not stopping China!
Also Denver is still toxic for the USOC because they have had problems in the past.

Everyone else doesn't but I do! It would be so cool. Can't believe Denver blew it's one chance, because they'll probably never consider it again.

Traffic, overcrowding, endless road construction, high prices, and more traffic. No thanks!

I know it would be worst, but those are things we deal with daily anyway. Plus, it wouldn't be as bad as the Summer Olympics
