Well, being spoiled is a bad thing, where I come from. A lack of variation in temps and rainfall would feel a bit like purgatory, to me. Why not just lock myself in a room for the entire year?

Seriously, thunderstorms are just nature showing off. They aren't some artificial apparatus created by the government in order to scare people.

Lightning strikes dazzle Bay Area - SFGate

If you go back to Oct 1989 the headline read:
"Earthquakes dazzle Bay Area!" lol

No, not really. It was the top story, reporters all over talking about this tree in SJ that exploded and how firefighters were on alert.

Thank God thats not our normal weather.

Yes, and you can have them all. Trust me, no one here is jealous of that.

Nature shows off here by blessing us with beautiful, natural air conditioning and sunny skies.

We have more biodiversity than ANY METRO AREA in North America as well.

So you count your blessings and I'll count mine.

Most people in the Bay Area seem to get fascinated with thunderstorms and unusual weather like that. Just read the comments in Lightning strikes dazzle Bay Area - SFGate

Who said anything about them being jealous? What I'm saying is that there is no unanimity on the best type of weather, despite what your biased sources might suggest.

Congratulations on the biodiversity. The Bay Area is beautiful, and I never said otherwise, but it would be even more beautiful under a warmer, stormier climate. That's my opinion, of course.

Yes, it's a rare oddity in this region that is novel, thank heavens.

No one says "I wish we had this every day"

No one indicated that people here "wished we had it everyday" but it's simply untrue to say "nobody" likes the rare thunderstorms we get.
