Columbus... larger city/metro, warmer winters, a half-days' drive from the gulf beaches, and a little bit closer to Atlanta than Marion is to St. Louis.

Here's a 3-way battle of Michigan college towns:

Kalamazoo, MI or Mount Pleasant, MI or Ypsilanti, MI?

Appear to be all college towns- Western Michigan vs. Central Michigan vs. Eastern Michigan.

I'm going to go with Ypsilanti for its proximity to Ann Arbor, Detroit and my family in Northern Ohio.

Following the same theme- Bloomington, IN vs. Champagne, IL vs. Iowa City, IA

Champaign. A really underrated small metro. I really like it.

Chapel Hill, NC (near Raleigh/Durham) or Ann Arbor, MI (near Detroit) or Lawrence, KS (near Kansas City)?

All great, but Chapel Hill has the best location and climate IMO.

Charlevoix, MI or Ogunquit, ME?

Ogunquit. I visited there in the 80's and really liked it.

San Antonio, TX or Salt Lake City, UT?

San Antonio, just a lot better IMO, but SLC has great scenery. Laws are too crazy though in UT

Detroit or Cleveland?

Cleveland. I've always had a soft spot for the Cleveland/Akron area. Visit a good bit when I live in Columbus.

St. Louis, MO or Raleigh, NC?
