Nobody needs to “win ‘em over.” People take this fantasy site so seriously. In reality, both Chicago and NYC’s downtowns are doing fine. It's a waste of effort comparing numbers of buildings over a certain number of ft. No need to get defensive and try to win people over. Spend time in reality (off this site) and you will see that nobody cares about that minutiae. Both cities are thriving and many prefer both of these downtowns.
er....it was about "the topper"....in other words: a joke
U cant be serious ...Manhattan is the #1 in the country by FAR. Other cities with good downtowns would be Chicago, Philly, Boston, & LA. But they still cant compare to manhattan. You guys seriously overrate chicago and several western cities.
I live in downtown, the south loop area in Chicago & have spent time for 18 years, 2-3 times per year in June & September in New York City. Chicago is awesome & New York is exciting. By your assessment & rating appears that you may not familiar with Chicago by personal experience. Due to experience in both cities I disagree with your statement that Chicago is over rated. The pockets that the police need to solve the biggest of crime no longer contained in the projects, one which had a police Dept within. Chicago is an awesome city, but for the gang bangers harm after the projects were taken over in an attempt to push them into the suburbs. As a result they are intermixed in neighborhoods of respectable, hard working Black folks. Cabrini Green formerly sat on valuable property which was desirable as it is closer to down town.
Hmm, I'd pick Chicago in that comparison. More attractive, cleaner, inviting.
Especially in the summer
