Ok. Fashion from amazon. Just because you can buy it doesn’t mean anything. Fashion trends mostly start in California through tv and movies, and New York with high fashion, and works it way inland. This shouldn’t come as a surprise.
No fashion trends mostly start in Europe and move west.
New Yorker here, lived in Chicago years ago both great places with cool neighborhoods, architecture and nightlife, love them both for different things. Both so different culturally, geographically you can’t really compare them other than they are full of life, energy and fun. I don’t understand why this forum has to be so divisive-just enjoy what you have and where you live, who really cares what someone else prefers?
No comparison: Downtown Chicago is a lot smaller than Manhattan and not as fun. Downtown Chicago is a regional destination for Midwestern and business travelers alike while Manhattan is a world destination for the rest of the world and U.S..
I think that would be hard to deny, the topper. Chicago is flyover country for the international tourist, virtually all of them planning and experiencing a trip that is designed to take them into New York for a four day tour, followed by flying them 3000 miles west to San Jose for a six day tour....then it's back home again, seeing nothing of America but the Big Apple and the Rusty Chip.
In a few years nyc will have 18 buildings over 1000 ft compared to Chicago’s 6...the growth of Manhattan during this boom is astounding
That doesn’t really matter. New York can have 30 buildings over 1000ft and will still look chaotic. Chicago has a better urban aesthetic than New York City.
