You are correct. I should have said "most tornadoes occur in the spring". In any event, my main point is that tornadoes do not "plague" Dallas. The word "plague" makes it seem like there is a tornado destroying the entire Metroplex every month. The damage can be great, but most of the critical damage occurs in a limited area.

Phoenix does beat Dallas in terms of severe weather, although getting caught out in the desert with little to no water and dying of heatstroke or dehydration does happen.
