Actually, SF is a suburb of San Jose. San Jose is an economic power of the region.

Omg I was just thinking that! I couldn't remember the name though haha. So many disturbed individuals out there. Seems to be the trend this week.

Ummmm, ok? And Philly has University of Pennsylvania, which is an ivy-league school and outranks Stanford. Philly also has Drexel, Temple, Villanova, Swarthmore, Rutgers, Saint Joe's, La Salle, and lots of smaller private liberal arts colleges a la Bryn Mawr, Haverford, Rosemont and on and on. ... Like no offense, but to say San Jose better universities is literally laughable and trust me, I'm no Philly fanatic (don't really care about the place), but please dont tell me San Jose has better educational institutions than philly. Santa Clara University means nothing in the northeast....as they have the best schools in the country.

Philly is more of a "real" city than SJ. More culture, more vibrancy and more character.

San Jose and LA for that matter should be following the footsteps of San Francisco in regards to urban planning.

History has had its fair share of successes and failures . One surefire success that History has provided is the construction of great urban cities.

Definitely, it's much more walkable and feels much more urban than San Jose. Not to mention all the culture and history of Philadelphia

I see San Jose proponents let Philly supporters turn this thread into a battle of urbanity.

Get better at arguing your city's strong suits.

I feel like I must be living in the Upside Down since Topper and myself both live in San Jose and according to him its a utopian dreamscape, a 21st century Shangri-la. While to me it looks and feels like LA if you took out all of the fun cool stuff.
