Yea, I can see that. I don't know the OP or their experiences, but I can say that it's not necessarily a universal experience. I get wanting to live in a very pluralistic and diverse city, but the mention of living in an Asian city is pretty much not that save for Singapore to a limited extent. If diversity is what he values, then some of the cities of the US are the best in the world for such. I personally value it, because I'm pretty much lead by my stomach, and I really like having the option of radically different dining and grocery options. Secondarily, lead by my ear since I'm really into different modalities for music, but really, it's the stomach.
Boston, hands down. Though it's pretty expensive, it's much less so than SF. Neither are very politically diverse, but SF has a very hostile, extreme political climate. Boston is much cleaner. SF today resembles a 3rd world nation in many parts of the city. I saw it first hand early this year and it was scary to see. Boston is the best, without a doubt.

I think you meant SF, hands down. As in, SF is less worth the cost.
I find the QOL higher in Boston personally with eay access to Beaches, Mountains, good port/oceanic towns, close to NYC/DC/Philly, and Mountains. SF being 50% more expensive than Boston and offering less for my liking makes Boston much more worth it.
So, San Fran is less worth it. imo
