Amazing.

San Diego's urbanized area hits 3 million in about 700 square miles.

Anyone know how many miles it takes Boston to get to 3 million?

If Tijuana was added to San Diego, we'd be looking at an even denser area with 5+ million.

Wouldn't make such a comparison because there's no reason to, but its just one more way of illustrating how not-special Boston is.

I was replying to a post that stated Los Angeles had annexed its inner ring suburbs, which doesn't seem to be supported by any facts as Los Angeles has been quite a large city for quite a long time.

Won't ignore basic geography to help make Boston-Cambridge out to be the 8th wonder of the world!
LA didn’t annex?
When did your neighborhood join LA??

The person who won’t give Boston Cambridge is giving San Diego 700 square miles lol.
San Diego urban core feels and is much smaller than Boston

Ass you can see, most of those areas were annexed over 100 years ago when they were farmland and ranches, not "inner ring suburbs".

Annexing dirt roads with cows and chickens running around isn't the same as annexing fully developed urban satellite cities.

Man we typed almost the same reply at the same time.

That is a cool map though, have been looking for one that shows the city boundaries by year going back to 1850.

You’re making my point
Cambridge was established
It’s not part of Boston due to its history
it’s an integrated part of bostons core that is relevant when comparing Boston to cities with larger land areas

More that is disingenuous

As I *always* say - across several threads. there's always one person with a bone to pick with Boston. Gotta go outta their way to swing and miss.
