It's still bad, but its most wild days are behind it. Nowadays Ridley Circle (Vick's old hood), Aqua Vista, and Marshall Courts are worse. They torn down all the worst of the worst years ago, like Dickerson Courts, Woodsong, and Harbor Homes so the time when Iverson was hanging around is much different than now. Even back then, Stuart Gardens wasn't as bad in comparison.

I've been to the region once back in 2006 when I went on a black college tour. We went to Norfolk State and Hampton. One thing that stuck out to us a bunch of people from Southern California is when we went to a Fridays in Newport News, and as soon as we walked in a strong scent of cigarette smoke hit us like a ton of bricks . Our counselors we came with then told us about how they have smoking areas inside restaurants in some states. That was foreign to a lot of us. So we sat in a non-smoking area...

Well, speaking of getting smoke...

Make that 25 for Newport News, a kid got killed after a basketball game at a high school. I seriously wonder why so many shootings happen after football/basketball games, it's not a good look. I remember going to some back in high school and you can just feel tension for no reason, you know something is about to go down. Don't wanna hang around any longer than you have to.

This also comes after a shooting incident inside another high school a couple months ago, two kids were hit, a boy and a girl who was an innocent bystander.

Why?

I grew up in Brooklyn. Egos is the reason why people get killed in basketball games and football games. A high school associate of mine was killed after a basketball game all because his ego made him show a gun to a competitor who he knew and the competitor returned back and shot him dead.

Easy explanation. Egos if we are talking violence associated with the sport.

My city of Gatineau is actually at 3. A father killed his 2 kids and then took his own life a couple of months ago. So that counts as 2 homicides.

Seriously? Can you post evidence?

If so, that’s tragic.
