Chicago is about to become a huge part of my life, so I would love to hear different people's perspectives/thoughts.
Well, for state economy, Mass definitely wins. I also really like New England scenery so when it comes to small towns, I would give it to Mass. Although Chicagoland wins in terms of diversity, and overall stature IMO. You’ve got the city, beautiful North Shore suburbs (with nature, quaint towns, mansions, picturesque, lake), modern NW and Western suburbs (with nice independent downtowns and beautiful neighborhoods), and older more blue collar South/SW suburbs, and border suburbs like Oak Park and Evanston. All connected by Metra to the city. Southern IL is not my style, but the vastness and diversity of Chicago and Chicagoland makes IL my choice.
This one's close, but still Illinois. Massachusetts as a complete state including the islands in the Atlantic is pretty nice though
They're basically the same kinda state, Relying on One big city then a Hinterland. The Massachusetts Hinterland is better, But still ...I'm Rolling with Illinois on this one
But then half of them relocate back into North Carolina...
Nah they are over Nc.
