New ACS data for the 2017-2021 period will be released tomorrow (Dec 8th).

https://www.census.gov/newsroom/tip-...2/tp22-24.html

Also state population estimates for midyear 2022 are going to be released on Dec 22nd. I'm cautiously optimistic that they won't show as much decline as the 2021 estimates did, given the pandemic's impacts have been lessening.

These cities getting out done by the likes of Detroit and Tampa is crazy.

Houston had the highest number of Pakistani, Nigerian, Vietnamese and Guatemalan growth in the US.
That is groups from 4 different areas.

Plus it looks like it was #2 for Venezuelans and Salvadorans,
#3 for Cubans, Columbians and Filipinos (almost 2nd).

9 groups in the top 3, from 7 areas.

I remember the days when people would say Houston is not diverse and claim it was only Mexicans.

DFW was #1 for Indians and Nepalis. If someone could chime in on the Nepali and Laotian boom in Dallas I would like to hear it.

Look at Las Vegas being#1 for Filipinos. Same here. How did Vegas become a mecca for that group.

I’m surprised immigration from India to Los Angeles is so low? It’s lower than Sacramento and Austin, and Indian migration is pretty high in virtually every other city in the country. Especially so for Seattle and San Fran, LA’s west coast cousins.

You'd have to still separate those born in Nova vs the southern portions of VA.
