Just an interesting post to show how little we've progressed. In May '09, way back before our good buddy dementor changed his alias to finalcut/euros/advocusvioli, he was posting similar tripe in this very thread, roughly 80 (!) pages ago. Scroll back to page 10 for some laughs.

I'm having pangs of remembrance. Oh, how our little dementor has (meaning "has not") grown up. Where does the time go?

And still Los Angeles and its culture thrives and Chicago lost both Kanye and Oprah. What is wrong with this city that forces all talented people to run away as soon as possible? Wait, reading some pro-Chicago posts I realized that I already know the answer... They escape mediocrity and mental stagnation.

I have no clue, but it makes me want to commit suicide with a hammer when I think about the fact that I actually respond to 50% of the BS that is posted. Just when I think I'm out, he pulls me back in.

You can never go wrong with a well-placed Simpsons picture to support your point.

Anyway, in terms of the original topic: I think Chicago is better than Los Angeles even though Los Angeles seems to be a pretty sweet place :X

Apparently one million more poeple chose LA over Chicago based on population of those two cities. Based on presence of cultural elites: the is no comparison. Based on culture produced by both cities: there is no comparison.

LOL. I just looked at page 10 again-- you were there, and mas23 was there, I was there, and dementor was there...

(...and it was all so real. Really Auntie Em, really. I just know that I missed you all and all I could think of was coming home. And now that we've made it to page 90, oh I'm so happy to be home).

In a weird creepy way, you're all indirect family. Destined to meet each other years in the future (or in this case- one year), Grapico was there a year ago too.

I am a fan of Chi's waterfront, possibly greatest city to sit on fresh water.
