With all due respect people, I don't see the what makes up north so much more exciting then Florida. NYC is an exciting city. But it's only one city. Can you guys give examples and post pics that will explain how or why up north is more exciting. Because for me personally i've been up north, i've been to PA and NY and NJ it is convenient that all the cities are close, but once you venture off the I-95 corrodor, it looks just as boring as anywhere on earth. I don't see the excitment outstide of the main cities. Can anyone explain there reasoning to me? I love NYC and DC, but I just don't see the attraction otuside of the cities. Is anyone from up there kind enough to explain?

Mountains and 4 seasons. Somebody can post pix of the Poconos in all 4 seasons to show just how beautiful they are. A palm tree is a palm tree is a palm tree. They all look the same 12 months of the year. Then there is the nice fresh air of the mountains as opposed to the stiffling heat and and humidity of dried out flat Florida.

Mountains alone would give Pa. the edge.

That about sums up the debate....LOL...seriously the heat/humidity in Florida is almost unbareable;many people move here for outdoor activities, which are unpleasant to say the least for the "OVEN" two thirds of the year and when the weather gets reasonable, our population doubles in Sarasota.....no win scenario. Also it is so very dry in Sarasota, on the coastline, that we pray for rain before the ground crumbles under your feet. Greedy Developers have also helped to make Florida unpleasant, for the average resident. Many people prefer new...but I prefer a more European look with older buildings preserved.....European cities are more like Pennsylvania...it is a mindset or attitude....new does not always equate with better.

Florida, lots to do, beaches, deap sea fishing year round, best golf courses, restaurants, plenty of country areas and city areas, sports, (bucs, jags, dolphins, daytona 500, rays, magic, etc.), lots to visit, (Orlando, Keys), yea, hot in the summer, so is most of the rest of the country, but we usually get a nice thunderstorm daily to cool things off, but no need to bash PA, im sure theres pretty cool places there too. Tons of people from the NE in FL, most will talk about how good it is up North, but dont seem to try and leave, as far as the economy, just a few years ago, it had a quite a few places as the best cities to relocate too, I think Florida grew to quick in some areas.

Palm trees and beaches beat mountains imo.

Oh yeah. Love a Floridian visitor when you come across one. We don't really need palm trees in the North to be satisfied. I think any part of the country can be exciting depending on what you do.

In Pennsylvania, you got:
- farms
- Amish farms and museums
- Crop adventure mazes
- The entire Hershey town (and museum).
- Dorney Park
- Dutch Wonderland
- The other PA theme parks
- Poconos area
- Great Wolf Lodge (ok, part of Poconos tourist area)
- Home-made fudge places
- Mini-golf & golf
- Crayola Factory
- Casinos
- Gettysburg
- PA national parks
And it goes on and on... Oh yeah, and I rarely go to Phili but that city has a nice indoor market place with a piano.

My state, you got:
- the Shore; all the way from Sandy Hook to Cape May. Break it down further, it's a variety of beaches too. Sandy Hook isn't really sandy and Cape May has one of the smoothest sand in the state. Then, we have the amusement boardwalks/piers like Pt. Pleasant and Seaside Heights. Wildwood is too well-known to be counted. Long Beach Island is worth a trip to eat their chowder.
- Mitsuwa - 1-2 percent of Japan right there. The only thing missing is Hokkaido's white chocolate. :/ (And it's still depressing that Kinokuniya is no longer there and turned completely NY.)
- Ha-na-reum or H-Mart. Korean supermarket chain with cheap prices.
- Asian markets scattered around the state.
- Indoor and outdoor water parks
- Ramapo Mtn.
- Trees (gotta love 'em compared to urban sprawl)
- The largest IMAX in the world used for educational purposes only.
- Which is part of LSC.
- Farms (i.e. cheese farms, fruit farms, and even a buffalo farm)
- Weird NJ (hehe.. This can be a weird state.)
- Golf and mini-golf
- Atlantic City...eh...
- Mysterious Waterloo Village, if it will ever open up again?
- Downtowns of certain towns that are very nice to be in.
- Palisades Park = West Korea to me. If you ever want to see an NJ downtown all in Korean, yeah... This is the place.
- Meadowlands State Fair
- NJPAC
- Princeton University town. (Nice library!)
- Clinton's downtown (I'll keep praising this town...for some reason.)
- County/town zoos
- Diverse amount of food in this state. You can't go wrong trying to find something authentic here. (And I'm not talking Chinese made Japanese food here. Of course, we have that too...)
- Boating, sailing, para-sailing, helicopting, whale/dolphin watching, etc. You name it (except for snorkeling and a coral reef), we have pretty much certain things that other beach communities have.
- Lots of retirement communities. Eh, I don't know why I'm mentioning that though...
- Diverse state as in how it looks from north to south.
- State aquarium, parks, and other places I didn't mention.
- Annual balloon festival by Quick Chek. Central Jersey is really the supreme home of hot air balloons in the state.
- LBI chowder festival. I wanna go to this one day.
- Six Flags: Gadv - largest Six Flags park in the chain with 400 acres of land. Only a small percentage of it is being used so I'm now thinking, SF is just preserving the forest in an indirect way. >.>

New York
Besides the Big Apple...
- Bear Mtn.
- Lake George (asides from all those tourist traps, the lake is breath-taking to look at).
- Niagara Falls (again, ignoring the tourist traps, it's Niagara!!)
- 1,000 Islands (-yea, source of the salad dressing!)
- Unusual town names like "Fishkill"
- Adirondack Mountains
- Hudson Valley itself
- Museums. Loads of it up and down the Hudson River.
- Farms
- Natural beauty on the highways. Very nice.
- Mt Fuji restaurant (also one in my county, but this Mt. Fuji's location is impressive on its own.)
- Albany and Buffalo (although, I don't know what you can do there..)
- Hyde Park -> Cooking Institute of America and FDR national parks/museums.

Need I say any more?

Nice. Very nice. But how does that qualify it as waaay better then Florida? All that looks fun, but people from up there will use all those examples to throw it in your face as to why it is so much better. I can also make a Florida list, but i'm to lazy. Seems like there is plenty to do up there, but there is just as much to do in Florida also, people just don't want to admit it.
