In perspective, I'm fairly certain that the probability of death/incapacitation from sliding off of an icy road in Pennsylvania far surpasses the chance of being swallowed by a python or an alligator. Hell, given Pennsylvania's notoriously derelict infrastructure, one could probably argue that merely crossing a bridge in that state poses a higher risk to life and limb than taking a hike through the Everglades!
I'd say the odds are equal for both states...just the python way would be a tad more gruesome.....

It's funny how the Floridians are basically the only ones on this forum to say anything negative about PA. Most people have nothing but positives to say about there.

I earlier guestimated from memory....FL. 65,000 and PA. 45,000 square miles so that was pretty close and I rounded. AND the RED TIDE is the most vile smelling phenomena I have ever witnessed in nature...IT stings you eyes and nostrils and really makes many people sick...and it happens a lot...more each year and can last for weeks with MILLIONS of dead fish on the BEACHES, and it occurs many more times per year...just lovely ....but watch out for those digusting and smelly smokers and your hair. And sharks and pythons and BUGS OH MY....LOL...
You are off by quite a bit on Florida's area. Land area is under 55,000 and total is around 58,500.
PA is just under 45,000 land area and just over 46,000 total.
A little less difference than I originally thought, works out to about 13% smaller.

Hang on If I'm wrong I admit it...so far every source I check gives different numbers on both states.....Now I see(Rand McNally) PA>....44,820 and FL>....53,937 MY BAD.... I'll check Wiki again...maybe I read wrong or their info wrong. I checked encyclopedias and got another set of numbers? My new number shows Florida is approximately 17% larger landmass. I'm gonna check some more...Thanx for noting the error.... And not as high as I originally thought but I'll check more.

I checked WIKI again THe numbers I quoted were correct...HOWEVER I never mean to give bad data...maybe they are wrong??? I do not know? Check for yourself....... Other sources seem to be much closer between your numbers and my "corrected" numbers. Anyway if I am wrong..so be it...but I am only quoting WIKI...which is constantly used in this forum as accurate information.....

Well, considering that the subject of the thread is "Pennsylvania versus Florida", I would assume that most of the input would come from Pennsylvanians and Floridians, or at least people who have lived in both states in the past and can therefore provide accurate judgments.

Florida is not a good fit for lots of people, just as Pennsylvania was a horrible fit for me.

I have lived in both states and have been critical of both states...but still my heart is in Pennsylvania. And I did critisize Florida more often, I think.
