Dallas vs San Diego: I live an hour from Dallas, and I'm going to move to San Diego. Dallas has too much random violence, something San Diego seems to have very little of.That said, Dallas is a FUN city! I really hope the night life in San Diego is comparable, like has been said before. I'd be really bummed out if SD doesn't have a good rave scene -can anyone share any knowledge on this?
I live in SD and have to laugh because yes we do have mountains, oceans, desert closeby, and all the outdoor activities you can imagine (surfing, swimming, biking, climing, running, snowboarding, etc etc) but who the heck does all this? Truthfully, nobody I know. Most people are working alot more than 40 hours a week just to afford living here...
I live about 1 mile from the ocean and I rarely go to the beach, although I do see the ocean every day (maybe I'm just taking it for granted). Most of these activities mentioned are for the very young (teens and 20's). Once you hit your 30's, get married and have kids all those activities go out the window and you are just working and taking care of your kids. Personally, I couldn't care less what the RAVE scene is, I really want to know where the closest Target and Home Depot are! The weather is the big draw here...no extremes.
Maybe i'm just paranoid because i live in such a small town where nothing bad ever happens... but for whatever reason, i definitely dont feel safe in dallas at night

If money were no object San Diego without question.
In the real world, its a harder question to answer.
