Im with you.They are very distinct.Dallas and Atlanta are closser than Houston though.Houston's buildings are just all height.Not much stands out.
Take the top three buildings that are standouts in each city,and I guarrantee,All three of Atlanta's would win over any three in Houston or Dallas.
To be fair, Houston's best buildings arent necessarily the tallest ones, save a couple 4 or 5, while Dallas' and Atlanta's best buildings are more likely to be some of the tallest in their respective cities.
I'm not saying they're not different. But this is so subjective that you can't say "oh well obviously BOA Dallas is the best of these 3." There are always going to be different opinions.

If we talk about architecture period, from what I've seen I like Houston's much better. I've seen a larger variety, but I haven't seen all of Atlanta.
If we talk about skylines its a toss up, and a subjective one at that. Houston has shiny boxes. Dallas has shinier boxes with lights. Atlanta has boxes with lights, crowns and spires.
With my recent research on the city of Atlanta ( have not done that much into Dallas, but already know much about the city) I've definately found the city to be overrated so it can ( certain city data users wanting) actually one day fit the ratings. As for architecture ( what recent posters were discussing) they both differ, Atlanta skyline looks more like Los Angeles while Dallas looks more like Chicago.

lol! This is a good way to describe it. But it's all completely subjective like you said.
I like picking on you.lol.NO!Houston has done a slight better job of preserving its archictectual history,but to say that it has better seems like you are not truly aware of Atlanta's past.That said Houston current or modern buildings are the least attractive and uninspiring of the three in my opinion.
The funny thing is there is more historical architect in downtown Fort Worth than all three of these cities. Dallas and Houston have not done a good job of preserving its history. Atlanta has done a fair job. This is one category that my hometown would beat any of these cities.

Dallas and Atlanta skylines are alot similar than what people fell to realize. It all depends on the view of the skyline.

Chill out I was trying to get a picture of the lights at the top of the buildings. ATL does have several skylines, but sorry if my picture was insulting.
