There's no "3-Cs" debate or Cleveland-Cincinnati rivalry. We don't think about you; you think about us. If you're so fascinated, you should move up...

Another advantage for Cleveland, its IT infrastructure is very robust, with downtown rewired for the Republican National Convention, facilitated by the reconstruction of Public Square in the heart of downtown.

In terms of the outdoor antenna systems, the indoor antenna systems, the upgrades that we’re making at the cell towers- those are all permanent. Obviously the fiber is all permanent. The vast majority of what we’re doing is here to stay.”>>

Seriously, how can sports teams and top notch cultural institutions trump logistics for a headquarters or any business in a city? The former points are excellent to have for quality of life and are nice selling points but to say they are bigger concerns over logistics is misplaced (a nice way of saying ridiculous).

It's really pathetic...CIN posters see an CLE Amazon hdq thread are compelled to allegedly quash one CLE poster's ''optimism'' that Amazon could go to CLE.

Yet you and your other CIN homey entered this thread with your negative comments before this CLE poster you mentioned had so now you need to say it's all about humbling this CLE poster.

You're can't be referring to me as the CLE poster you won't ID...

Try living in CIN and saying you're from CLE.

Thing is in CLE we didn't even think about CIN. So when you move there, at least initially, it's nice with the hills and all etc. Then you hear all this anti-CLE and it's proudly in the media down there as well...gets old as did the vibe there. This big one-way rivalry with CLE...there isn't even a true NFL rivalry with CIN as ours is the Steelers...CIN Bengals was a '70s expansion team so our rivalries were already in place. It really has a hang up about CLE.

Two hilarious yet great examples:

The CLE Flats were booming as many cities were developing underused or abandoned industrial waterfronts, riverfronts etc. The Flats were well known as a good party district. The Flats, as we know, were always called The Flats since CLE's get-go so when part of The Flats morphed into a bar district the name The Flats stuck.

So CIN embarks on a redevelopment plan for a no-named desolate, empty section of its riverfront into a party district; I mean it was empty, no buildings etc, so they had to create an instant fun-land. It also had to come up with a catchy name though like CLE had so...drumroll....let's call it The Banks...get it, The Flats (CLE)...The Banks (CIN). LOL

The Rock n Roll Hall of Fame opened in CLE 1995...in 1996 CIN creates...drumroll...The American Classical Music Hall of Fame...ever hear of it? Right, no one has. LOL

They'll be denial from the CIN anti-CLE posters (and others may show up after reading this post) much like we've seen regarding this Amazon topic.

So far though, CLE has not tried to copy its own version of a couple of CIN's latest cultural additions: The Creation Museum and The Ark Experience.

What do you mean by "logistics." An Amazon headquarters is not manufacturing anything. Cleveland Hopkins possibly would be an issue, but remember that it once was a Continental Airlines hub, and adding 50,000 Amazon employees, with the resulting multiplier effect, likely would boost flights significantly to and from Hopkins.

Internet infrastructure is infinitely more important for a 21st headquarters than some undefined "logistics" concern.

For all purposes, this is merely a Municipal Court while over there it's Common-Pleas.
So, you're loosing your case in municipal court.

Candidly, C-D posters won't decide this issue. If Cleveland doesn't even bid, it's a moot case. If it does, it's up to Amazon.

I only joined in this thread because of the clearly debatable claim that Cincinnati would be the "front runner" among Ohio cities.

BTW, I don't see any Amazon headquarters thread in the city vs. city forum. If you know of one, please provide a link.

Default Criteria for second HQ city

If Amazon is seeking a city with a robust international airport, that likely would disqualify both Cincinnati and Cleveland, although both recently have added service to Europe via Iceland.

Third place in what?

Certainly not in quality of cultural amenities, pro sports, mass transit, community colleges, metroparks, quality of downtowns, etc.

Many accomplished persons care about these things, including tech nerds.

Columbus is a cultural waste land compared to Cleveland, and Cincinnati, while much better, is not in the same league with Cleveland.

It just so happens that Cleveland's cultural amenities greatly enrich my life, and I find it offensive that those who haven't shared these experiences continuously attempt to diminish what many Clevelanders find wonderful about the city.

Ditto for Lake Erie as a natural asset and source of recreation compared to anything in Cincinnati or Columbus.

Absolutely ! Currently working along side 4 men from Cincy at the VA hospital in university circle, ( they all say Cleveland dwarfs Cincinnati in every aspect and they have been here only 3 months!)

I see the CLE envy is alive and well in CIN. Two CIN posters cannot handle the fact that an Amazon HDQ conversation is even going in CLE...there has to be some innate fear they think CLE could actually land Amazon.

Maybe it's 'cuz Cleveland's CSA is 3.5 million in a larger region of 4.3 million.
Cincinnati does have a CSA.
I actually think CSA is the least useful population designation, especially when doing any kind of comparison for cities. It's good for media market size, but not much else.
