With proximity to Palmetto Health hospitals, the University of South Carolina, and South Carolina Electric and Gas, Columbia suburb Cayce ranks #1 in South Carolina as a place to live for millennials according to Wallet Nerd.

Yea... I've never been a huge fan of the homes in cayce and also wish more of the neighborhood streets had sidewalks. That said, location per se is pretty great especially when you consider how cheaply the homes can be had when compared to Shandon.

On May 13th, Richland County will be officially recognized as the nation’s first 'Certified Connected' capital county.

Jim Stritzinger, executive director of Connect South Carolina, the statewide nonprofit promoting the expansion of broadband: “This is a really big deal for Richland County.”

"Being 'Certified Connected' means the County is in better position to attract and retain industries that rely on high-speed Internet and to ensure policymakers and residents understand the importance of having the right technological infrastructure in place."

Richland County is Nation

So when it comes to asking about where to live in Columbia, like I've said over and over, you can't go wrong living in the city in areas zoned for A.C. Flora High or Dreher High. Be a city slicker.

I would think a lot of that has to do with the amount of student apartments that exist in Cayce. When I lived there I noticed that much of the housing seemingly was occupied by aging in place seniors and recent immigrants.

Yep, I think this is one of those, "We crunched the data and this is what it spit out" kind of lists. In reality I can think of numerous places in SC that I as a millennial would rather live than Cayce. It shows you that most of these lists are junk
