I hope they don't allow it. Shame to allow a company that abandoned Main St to cannibalize the same businesses who pay rent and helped to bring it back.

As the article mentions, there used to be a physical Chic-fil-a on Main St. They left.
Now Main Street is hot, no thanks to them, and they want to make no investment in the area but still peddle their stuff.
No one is going to say, "Hey, let's go check out Main Street, they have a Chicfila cart!" All it will do is be a detriment to restaurants like Zoes, Cantina, Persona, etc.
It isn't even like we can pretend they're a local franchise. All Chic-fil-a's are owned by corporate, their "owner operators" are nothing more than glorified general managers. They own nothing.
Regardless of what you think of chic fila, nobody else applied for this spot,
They'll likely get it. This is s non story.
If they apply for and receive the grant, I have no issue. I just don't care for Chik-fil-a as either a corporation or a product. I don't get the appeal.

I think the developers of the Palms actually wouldn't renew their lease, but I'm glad they're not on Main Street anymore.
