A Chick-Fil-A on Black Rock Tpke would likely go through the roof! Awesome food, friendly staff (they help carry your food to your table when it's ready if they aren't packed and come by and refill iced teas, etc.), very clean, family friendly take on "fast food". Their chicken is real chicken and both adults and kids love it! The one here in our town in PA is always crowded and they do a great business! Even surrounded by IHOP, Burger King, etc. And, they are closed on Sundays so you'd have an automatic day off every weekend! My kids and I are going to miss it when we move to CT in a few months!
Or a good sit down Jewish Deli as mentioned above would be great too!!
There's a good Jewish Deli in Woodbridge by the entrance to the Merrit -Katz's I think it's called.
Yeah, I know. We go by it on the parkway all the time but have not stopped. We use to go to Rye Ridge because we are in Fairfield a lot. We do miss it. One day we will stop at Katz and try it. Thanks, Jay
IDK if it's a chain or independantly owned but having another Half Moon Cafe and Grill would be great, theres only 2 of them in CT which may mean their family owned but ones in Wallingford and idk where the other one is.
I drove down the Post Rd. 2-3 months ago but wasn't paying attention; the last time I walked around was last year. From what I last saw (when actually looking) was that the boutique stores catered to 30-somethings, stay at home moms, etc. I have never seen a store on that street with an "edgy" or trendy vibe, but there are quite a few boutiques with modest/preppy/expensive clothing.
I know of 1, maybe 2, that have recently opened. Minette and Rook in the Promenade at the Brick Walk (the new buildings where Pizzeria Molto is) is exactly that. Unfortunately, Urban Outfitters isn't a franchise and I don't think LF Stores is either.
Chick-Fil-A is an extremely hard franchise to buy. I read somewhere that out of the 10,000 applicants per year, only 75 are chosen to open one. I went to college in the south where they're on every corner and would love to see one open up around here as well.
Chipotle is mainly corporate owned, w/ only 8 of their over 700 locations being franchises. I agree that we need more delis/cafes/eateries downtown but its not really my expertise.
I have posted on the Fairfield Patch website as well so thank you!
My expertise is in skin care/cosmetics and marketing. I'm a licensed esthetician/makeup artist w/ a degree in Marketing/Advertising. I'm leaning towards a shop that carries all natural/chemical free bath, body, sunscreens and facial products catering to women, men, teens and babies. I'm passionate about educating people why they should use all natural and what specific ingredients can do their bodies.
My major problem at the moment...Whole Foods is opening this year not too far from downtown. I'm working on creating my niche. Any comments or feedback on competing w/ them would be appreciated!
I have gotten some great feedback on this type of business from a few resources and I appreciate all of your help and suggestions. Any other ideas/comments/suggestions, etc. are still welcomed and appreciated!
And to CTNYCT - I loathe Victorias Secret as well. There is a new clothing store opening right next to it.
Thank you again and look forward to some more feedback!
Just found out Chipotle will be opening next to the new Whole Foods.
