Any info on this?

95 from Greenwich to Bridgeport seems like it should be a priority for improvements. I'm aware of the Norwalk widening, but it doesn't have to stop there.

With a relatively small task ahead and an end date of 2014, the contractor is probably bleeding the state for every penny/hour possible. Not surprising. Nothing gets done in a hurry in this state.

My guess is CTs share of those funds get used for several new shiny toll booths up and down 95, 91, 84, and any other highway possible

Yes I am being sarcastic but don't think CT politicians wouldn't love to do that

The bill provides for continued funding at what is basically the same levels as in the past. It does not provide enough money for any massive new projects like you would like to see on I-95. As for the Norwalk project, the contractor bid on the project and is not paid based on time. It is not to his advantage to slow down progress and the state cannot dictate when he does the work. Jay

I'm just saying for the amount of work it's a rather long time.

Too bad every CT politician doesn't have to sit in that mess every day. Might see some real progress.

Same with many CT residents.

Drive on 95, Merritt, 84 or 91 and see how many out of state drivers we have just passing through. There are many times that I don't see a CT plate for miles, especially on 95 on a Saturday.

Throw tolls up in Greenwich, Stonington, Danbury, Enfield and Union. I'm tired of being a sucker.

I'd prefer to see tolls in interior CT for drivers that are merely passing through. Too easy to circumvent at the borders with local roads. Very few states toll at only the borders for just this reason. The likely result of border tolls would be a catastrophic economic impact and chronic local traffic. No thanks.

Also with highest car property taxes in the nation and top 5 for gasoline tax, we have more than enough capital to sustain an advance our transportation infrastructure. We need to stop being addicted to our wasteful ways.

Huh? How would putting tolls in central Connecticut help anything? At that point, you're penalizing someone who commutes from New Haven to Norwalk or from Danbury to Waterbury. Makes no sense.

You don't think they can circumvent the tolls within CT?

New Yorkers (and Mass) who work in the state are actually paying CT income taxes. No benefit will come from making our core business districts (Stamford and Hartford) less attractive to employers and employees.
