Thanks for the compliments guys. I appreciate it. What's funny is, after learning how to read the maps and models I rarely look at any other source for a forecast. I get my own solution and forecast without needing them. I still look and relay just to see what they say.. (wasnt intended to ryhme) LOL

Latest GFS12z has phased and does NOT go OTS anymore. Typical GFS.. Same crap it did last year. It hits Maine and backlashes us with downpours... When I get home I'll update more.. Euro comes out at 2

So if it curves out to the east and then comes back to the west, that is more typical of a nor'easter, is it not?

Where do I start?

I'll be making my list tonight of what I need to pick up. Lets take a step back.. Models had Irene as a 950 something Cat 2 and 1 Hurricane hitting us with 80-90mph winds and all I got was 30-35mph wind gusts. Yes it was memorable but the point is maybe models underestimate the strength when it gets here.

Either way... there is no shame in preparing. I am having a hard time convincing myself to get a generator. If you guys want to, go ahead and just get gas too, open it if you lose power. If I wait until that day to go buy one, is that dumb??

Lets catch up now...

Sandy is being taken very seriously. NWS offices across the ENTIRE country being asked to launch Weather balloons every 6 hours next few days.

New Euro just out has a 945mb Low that makes landfall in NJ and moves VERY slow.

CMC which was OTS also came back in to hit us

Here's the GFS from earlier hitting Maine.

It would be Historic because these are the paths since 1900 where a Cyclone was in Sandy's position at 11am. it would be a first!

The Euro has been using more "observational" data than the GFS, which is why it has been consistant showing a memorable storm.
