Agree... Now that we're 3 days away we should be getting more consistency.

Models have trended drier today. Trend is your friend, right? Meaning, precip lately hasn't been robust so the new updates is something I'm favoring now. This is looking like all snow north of I-84. Snow to Ice or snow to mix for the coast. The pattern and flow does not favor a warm or all rain scenario for anyone in Connecticut.

Euro has 0.39" of all snow for BDL. Surface temps start off in the teens and stays in the 20s on Sunday. One thing we have to figure out is the snow ratio. Obviously if the ratio is 20:1 that means 0.39" liquid would = 8" of snow. Normal 10:1 would be 4".

Here's the latest Euro 24hr snowtotal map. You can see there's much less for everyone. Precip amounts were dried up. These maps are based off 10:1 snow ratios.

Now... The energy enters the US tonight. So that's why we'll get a better sense of things because more data will be fed into the models.

Obviously as 2-5" doesn't stop us CT folks but it's nice to be tracking yet another winter storm.

A Facebook weather site I'm in just said the Euro is backing off on the snow, in the sense that it's saying 1-4" for all before going to rain.

Surprised not a lot melted today with full sun. I got to only 34° today. Snowpack still down and even on branches of trees.

Here's the Euro12z Data for Windsor Locks on top, Bridgeport on bottom. Windsor locks is all snow 0.39" qpf of it.
Bridgeport is 0.30" of of all snow then mix then rain. part of that 0.19" you see at BDR is snow because that precip happens for prior 6 hrs.

And not to veer away from the temps... Notice Euro says by 7pm Saturday Windsor Locks is 11.6° BDR is 22°. By 7pm. Yikes.

Each day...
4 Runs of GFS
2 Runs of Euro
4 Runs of NAM
2 Runs of Canadian
and more

I won't post each update but since I have it...

Here's the GFS just out.

Snow depth by Sunday 1pm. The famous I-84 split in CT.
Deduct 2-4" in the red areas of NY and VT since it had 2-4" from the start.

Electra.
Winter Storm Electra Forecast: Snow, Some Ice from Ozarks to New England - weather.com New Named Storm: Electra

Some graphics from TWC. I added a few things too it. High pressure to north is key. How strong is it? Where will it be?
Also note... this will have "rotating" bands. These are the setups to watch because we have fuel from the waters feeding moisture into cold air. But if moisture is limited or if the track is too close than snow amounts will be less due to warm air or low ratios.

1 thing is for sure; I will actually guarantee this (please let me know if Im wrong), we are all starting out as snow with accumulations, AND, north of Latitude 41.75N will stay snow.

Saturday & Sunday TWC forecast as of now

Euro is full of it -- If there is a storm, there will be precipitation. If there is precipitation, it won't be rain. Heck at teens or even single digits, there won't even be snow. Icicles perhaps.

Nice graphic! Now NAM into the time range but still its in the long range for the short term model so its not as reliable yet and its closer than the rest of them. Shows snow for 12 hrs then to rain for entire state. Snow gets heavy in the evening then transitions to rain after 10pm.

Systems entering the US now in the west so we'll see how they trend with the new updates tomm.
