Last time Bridgeport had a below normal month was 14 months ago & not by much. (Thanks El Nino)
Last real below normal month was March 2015

We haven't had an August this warm and muggy in decades. 2005 will be close.

Damn that February 2015 stands out so much. Long Island Sound freezing over was something special to see. So abrupt. December 2015 stands out so much as well.

Bad news the Farmer's Almanac is predicting above average snowfall this winter. With from what I recall January and Febuary being the snowiest. Let's just hope it's a repeat of last winter, but warmer!

Not me my body shuts down after it goes below 32. Been running and working out non stop the past few weeks. Did 6 days of running last week where winter usually 3. I think I've read you burn more calories in the cold. I remember years ago when in shape ran a marathon in December it was below 20 to start don't believe broke 25. I ran for four hours and droped out around 23 miles.

Year's ago a September 80+ weather ran 26+ miles from 10AM to 3pm. It was rough, but that marathon in the cold was brutal.

Your muscles hurt more you sweat more due to layers, but then you shiver because your sweating. Any part of your body exposed becomes numb. Can get frostburn or frostbite. Have to wear mask and put vasoline on your face. Sometimes have to wear underwear & 2 pairs of pants. Have to prep your shoes with nails or cleats for traction. Possibly bring a thermal water bottle so your bottle doesn't freeze over.

Summer shorts, a shirt, shoes, hat, sunglasses, and water good to go anytime except high noon, but still run ha.

I don't know why people don't get this. Sure, you can put more layers on when it's cold, but each layer restricts movement and increases risk of sweat. I suppose if you're a couch potato, the theory works fine, but not if you're active outdoors. Last thing you want to do on a 20 mile run or 50 mile ride is start discarding clothing.

There are plenty of cold weather athletes. I wonder about clothing choice... but Vaseline on the face, cleats on shoes for traction? Sheesh! A warm fire and a blankie. THAT's what I'd want!

The worst part is that you have to dress so you're cold (freezing for me) when you start, because you'll warm up to the perfect temp soon enough. But that's such trial and error. And I'm so cold when I start I have a hard time walking out the door.

Stabilicers - look them up! I've used them to get from my car to the building as our parking lot is on a slant. Makes winter running much less dangerous. You can also get studded tires for your bike but they are only really good on pure ice.

There are cold weather athletes here only because as we get older, it's too damn hard to shed off winter weight every spring - gotta work it all year!
