I predicted this when Malloy raised taxes on businesses

Let me make another prediction, CT will go deeper into debt, Malloy will raise more taxes, Malloy will raise spending. Then liberals will make more excuses. More companies will leave and Ct will go bankrupt.

Then I predict liberals will make more excuses

Glad I left!

Zero impact to housing and traffic to the Greenwich/NY border. Like the top dog says in Post 33, minimal impact to town homeowner's prop tax.

If that's the case then the move makes even less sense.

Having only 25% of your workforce even appearing on any given day then why bother going through moving at all? If most people don't need to be there then what are they really looking to achieve from Boston?

It's not like they need to be around the universities 24/7.

A lot of great points have been made on the thread and with more info out it's difficult to understand the deciding factors.

Can you blame them?....Between the fake "war hero" and the Obama lap dog and raising star of MSNBC, who will have the better excuse between the two why GE left?.....You can spin it any way you want...This isn't good, these are "real" jobs leaving the state, and I'm sure more, will follow....Lets not forget come
voting time, Keep reelecting the same people...hoping something different happens LOL

So, they move to another high tax/high cost state that's even more liberal than Connecticut. Houston, Dallas, St. Louis, etc from low cost/low tax states weren't even in the running.

It's not all about the money... Several articles said the main issue was being in a hub for technology.

I guess some can't fathom that the liberal environment is either desirable or a non-issue for many. If "liberalism" was the reason for leaving, Mass would not have been the destination.

By the way-- Almost every "tech hub" exists within a liberal environment-- Austin, Boston, Brooklyn, Seattle, San Fran... all liberal.

If this was about taxation and costs-- as some erroneously continue to insist-- Florida or Arizona, etc would have been the destination...

Nearly all tech hubs are centered in and around major US cities. Every major city in the US is a democrat stronghold. There's no avoiding it. Liberalism isn't creating tech hubs, high density of skilled employees, other tech businesses and access to capital is.

This is the west coast equivalent of moving from fresno to silicon valley. It makes sense for a high tech company to do so for many reasons, most of which CT does not and cannot provide. GE, Pfizer, BMS and the others who have left will not be the last. Tech hubs are HOT right now and CT is neither.

And it's absolutely about taxes still. CT is not worth what it costs. Boston is. If not specifically about "cost" it's certainly about "value".

Do not worry. Malloy will open more casinos. Quick casino $$, baby..
