It has to be that Bermuda High Pressure that is the pattern of the year.

That means moister US East Coast and CT (be it humidity or rain or both)

To the East
Dryer over the Atlantic waters offshore
Wetter over the Azores and mid-Atlantic ridge
Dryer than normal off Western Europe and UK

To the West
Dryer over the Midwest and East of the Sierra
Wetter in the Pacific NW and Mexican Riviera

This pattern shortens our dry spells and lengthens our wet spells. All places will get rain days and sun days but more skew based on where this pattern places you. For 2018 Connecticut falls in the wet zone. Humidity is harder to push out and when a cold air mass tries the cloudcover consumes miles behind the fronts.

Got a chance to mow this afternoon. Turned out to be a nice day with pokes of sun.

Glanced at the latest Euro... deeper cold shot for Thursday.

Can lightning strike twice? We could see our first frost, freeze, and flurries on October 18th.

October 18th, 2015 - 850mb temps. Credit to Cambium.

Eerily similar.

On an off-topic note, as I was typing this up just felt a plane come the lowest ever in my 10 years here. House was vibrating. Looking on flight radar, altitude seems to be about 1500-2500 ft. Odd.

Ahh, the Fall "digs". And I bet we had a similar September and Early October with heat and humidity. lol. Nice recap! Did you find that map by scrolling back to our old threads? I love CityData for that reason. It's like one long weather diary. We can look back and see what was happening. So pissed Accuweather forums are disappearing. All that effort in posting. CityDataRules!

Nah I looked it up on AccuForums a while back, so I just checked it there. Can download the first 20 pages of a thread. Grabbed a copy of the monster Arctic blast we had Dec17-Jan18. I like how this goes back a long way in one thread though . Wxdisco is running smoothly as well.
