I'm going to distract you from looking at this sad latest Snowfall total forecast...you ready? ...

There's a road that connects CT to Long Island. See it?

Everything scraping to the north. Snowing in Maine and not even close to starting here. What a disaster. Our window for a good front-end thump is closing rapidly

Edit - well it is actually snowing IMBY right now. Mood flakes though, nothing will accumulate at this rate. Need to get into the heavier returns FAST

Woah -- SREF plume snow totals have crashed. Many ensembles are below an inch from Bridgeport to Willimantic.

I have to hand it to the GFS twins - they did really well this storm, creamed the rest. Too bad it doesn't happen that often

It doesn't even smell like snow here in the Farmington Valley.

Just drove from Norwalk to Greenwich, the outside temp on my car was above freezing the entire time...

Guess we can whip it out...

8:20pm map. A look at the 5000' temps and who's reporting what.

4hrs ago that freezing line was over DC, now it's near Philly.

It's above freezing even north of Pittsburgh now.

NYC surface temps in mid-upper 30s there so there's mixed reports around there.
Lightly Snowing NYC suburbs though

Urban heat island in progress. Sad. Raining around NYC but snowing outside the "Island". Not sure those rain drops are reported accurately in CT.
