Hearing reports of friends and family with no power in the New Haven area. UI reporting a ton of outages...

Terrible night to lose power...

Almost 10K with no power

Looks like we're in for a nice lunar eclipse tonight. I'll try to snatch a few photos.

Lost power from about 5:10 until 6:45 pm...right in the area of Eversource, no less! They were on with a generator. My mother's complex behind them and part of the Berlin Turnpike south from Webster Street at the Newington town line were all out. Cops had the yellow tape up, preventing a left turn from Rowley Street to the Turnpike north. Not 100% certain it was weather related.

Scary with the full moon brightening things up, plus with the new snow reflecting some of that light back. Then add those small noises you hear which are usually drowned out by engines, furnaces, etc.

Almost looks like ocean effect snow. But why would it be developing inland??? Doesn't make any sense. Radar velocity shows the snow moving southwest so it has to be developing it over here. Strange
