I've been there a couple of times where the clarity was amazing (from the base) but by the time I was able to go up, the top was socked in clouds (and I have the pix to prove it!)

3 of the last 6 yrs has had below 17° days.

Before 2014 you have to go back to 2004. Then 1994. Then 1988. 1980s had a lot!
I remember a lot of ice storms in the 80s. I seem to remember constantly chipping ice off my car to leave my downtown job, this would have been 1984 or 1985.

That January 28th storm? POOF. MISS! LMAO!

From the Canadian...

2 Jet streams don't merge. No big coastal storm up this way. They stay separate.
GFS shows this too. Euro has no storm too. Stays south. Is it Spring yet?!

Wave that flag! Come on guys. 2 months of winter is now over. Maybe we can get 1 snowy month still??

25 degrees now. I see the high clouds starting to come in for tomorrow's precip. Mostly from the S and SW...with a few cirrus clouds to the NW.

I convinced the wife to take a trip next summer now! LOL.

Question..do you take your own car? rent or take train up ... I heard its murder on the brakes.

Congrats!!! I've always taken my own (super old) car up. I have a stick shift so it's easier to stay in a lower gear. Some cars aren't allowed due to their particular shifting. There are plenty of places to pull off to cool brakes, or check out the views

You can always take the stage up (which is a big van). The drivers know so much it may be worth it just for that!

The train goes up the other side, so it's a completely different view. I haven't done that - I get carsick so I'm always cautious about being driven. Enjoy!

*****

25 degrees here but full sun. All day I've been listening to ice fall, but I can't see it so I wonder if it's chunks falling into my downspouts.

I had to go out at lunch and chip the driveway. My sidewalk is great - I really timed the rock salt perfectly - but the driveway is pretty bad and my back walk (where I enter the house) is an absolute disaster. Warm weather can't come fast enough.

Euro12z for Danbury, CT keeping things consistent this winter.

Cold comes in, then warms up with the storm. Cold, warm, storm.

2 precip events over 1" but warm.

Next week could be close.
