Oh sweet!! You are going to experience wild conditions. I'm looking at the maps now. That's when you have to look at the 5000' level (850mb).
Arctic front comes through next Wednesday morning. Might rain at low elevations but above 3500' there could be big snowstorm.
Clears out on Wednesday but very cold. -4°F Wednesday afternoon!
Thursday will have changing conditions up there with snow squalls. So expect clouds mostly.

Send previous moderator Nei a message. He's been up there.

Here in CT, that front will hit us as well and get real cold again next week.

I just looked it up, unfortunately they further "warmed" to 5-deg at 11pm last night. Still coldest January max since '94? (It was still an incredible 29 degrees below normal).

Did a little more looking up and found that:

1) Worcester, MA had a high of only 1-deg yesterday, wow!

2) Want snow, go to Caribou, ME. 47.4" so far this month and 99.2" so far this winter! Burlington, VT has 30.3" this month and 58.4" this winter.

Another Week. Another Storm. Another Waste.

Storm going west of us and once again there's Pacific Connection.

Raining up to Southern Michigan this morning. 50s up to Kentucky. Here comes the rain Nutmeggers! Starts tonight. Heavy Tomorrow morning.

Some people think 1 month is considered "winter".
Some people think only the cold is considered to be "Winter".
Some people will keep playing the push back game until Spring.

Spring is March-April-May.

WINTER IS A SEASON & you need both snow as well as cold for it to be considered winter IMO.. Unless you're in the south of course.
Snow supposed to last on the ground at least for a little while.
Snow in March and April and melting next day doesn't mean we had "Winter!
Snow & Cold in March and April then getting 50s, 60s, 70s for temps soon after is not a "Winter"!

"Winter" is December-January-February and that means there is only 1 month of winter left which means even if it snows in February, Spring is around the corner.

Come on Cam, I've had snow on the ground since early Sunday morning. That's a little while, isn't it?

I really need warmth or rain in order to free up my driveway and the back walk... and the street! What a mess! the town manages to plow 1-2' off the curb and it creates puddles in front of every driveway.

Food for thought...

Bridgeport (and other areas) have more rain totals than snow in inches this winter (Dec-Jan):

Dec: 5.91" Rain. 0.5" Snow.
Jan: 2.56" Rain. 1.2" Snow
8.47 inches of Rain vs 1.7 inches of snow.
And more rain on the way next 24hrs.

NYC
Dec: 6.51" Rain. Trace Snow.
Jan: 1.83" Rain. 0.7" Snow
8.34 inches of Rain vs Less than 1 inch of snow.
And more rain on the way next 24hrs.

2 PM and raining. Maybe mix, but can't tell for sure - temp 36°F so guessing rain.

This snow-to-rain storm and flash freeze was actually really nice. Froze up the stream completely, made hauling firewood over it very nice. I recorded my stability checks on the ice, just need to upload them.

Snow surface is about 0.5-1" of pure ice. Very slippery surface to walk on.
