2010 was a great year! I was out (comfortably) on my bike early and never stopped.

I think in general, I'd summarize our last winters as warmer in the middle (after a brief early cold spell), but lasting longer with bigger March storms, and even April storms. And we've had really cold springs. My birthday is in mid-March and I think it's been nice once, maybe twice, in the past 10 years. 2010 was one of them.

I am in the woods often as well, and it's harder and harder to get in there prior to April and sometimes even by late April depending on the location.

I remember things based on events:
Feb 2011 was awful
2013 was a March blizzard that shut the state down
Feb 2016 had a good sized storm too, first day at a new client.
2017 had a good amount of snow in early Feb, multiple storms in a week, and cold

There's also been a few times in the past 2-3 winters where my area has been hammered with 20-nearly 30" of snow. I tried to find a nice chart on Wunderground but failed. I know I had the info somewhere. I'll find it eventually.

I have started to write "snow" on my desk calendar but I should put totals in there too I guess.

Yeah it's gotten to the point where I write off March as another winter month and don't get my hopes up for April. Well at least the days are longer I guess.

I haven't posted a current map in a while. Just been boring lately.

5:30pm its in the mid to upper 30s across CT this evening. Slightly above normal. Should be near freezing at this hour February 1st.

See that moisture on the map? See below

Future radar loop from NAM3km.. 8pm tonight to 4am Monday

Initial piece clips Southern CT with some light moisture tomorrow morning.

Then is that a front? Showing more moisture in form of Snow Sunday night? LIGHT. Less than an inch probably.

I know, but so weird to have longer days with such cold weather

And didn't we say the opposite in during a warm spell in Nov/Dec? Short days should not equal warm weather!

TRACE!!! So happy! lolol I got a Trace of snow on ground. YES!

The pattern this week.... Jet stream lifting north = warm for us

Enjoy the taste of Spring!

What goes up....must come down somewhere else. Jet stream doesn't want to stay dipped over Northeast.

Spoiler

This is true.... the part about the PV stuck at the pole. I dont agree with the other part. We need that thing to drop south to give us those super cold snowy winters.

Band of moisture coming across.

Allentown, Redding, Mt Pocono, Scranton reporting light snow.

Temps in the 40s across CT. Probably be drizzle. It is below freezing at 5000' but moisture is too light for it to fall as snow.

You got really hosed, Cam. At least here in the NW Boston suburbs, we had 17"+ in early Dec, which stuck around for a long time. Then a few other 3"+ events.
