Yup. For 49°

Earliest was August 3, 1956
Latest was September 23, 2018 & 1928

This year we might be breaking that record because the lows stay above 50 next 7 days.

I was woken up by one heck of a thunderstorm around 4 this morning in SE Hartford County. It moved through quickly but it was loud. I can't wait for this humidity to drop.

Exactly.....yet BDL is actually 0.2 degrees below normal for the month so far because the high temperatures have been below normal.

But it's only the 16th and some of the very long range do have some really cool lows for the last 3-4 days of September so we'll see.....

It all sort of holds together though, doesn't it. Climate change --> more moisture content in the atmosphere --> higher dewpoints --> overnight lows can't fall as far.

Completely agree, in some ways that's actually worse because it means less opportunity to cool things off.

Sometimes you cant help some people understand it.

Record low moisture in the air March, April, June.

Temps in July ended up below normal. (NOT WARM)

Temps at 5000' hit a record cold & Dry in July

Remember last year? Near record cold AND DRY Mid September.

Cant have it both or all ways. Below, Normal, Above.

Move on from the blame game.

Current map... Odette a fish storm... No headlines. Climate Change saving us. Oh, its only Climate Change when a storm hits us, nevermind.

I wish I was in …………… Iowa. Fooled you? I don't need 30s yet in the morning.

Warm 60s in CT again. Climate change saving the farmers with an extended growing season! Good news!

Cooling well aloft is part of the science. (https://www.csmonitor.com/Environmen...sphere-cooling)

July was only a LITTLE below normal, and if you used any past norms except the (especially for low temperature) elevated 1991-2020 norms it would've have been (albeit just a little) ABOVE normal.

Look at all the streaks of above normal months vs. streaks of 2 or more months below normal (there are relatively few) in the last 20 years. Many of the above normal streaks are literally a year or more in a row of above normal months. There is nothing like that for below normal months in a row, I believe you have to go back to the 80s or even 70s to start seeing that. If you take the globe as a whole and average it all out, it hasn't been "below normal" compared to the past for any month in 35 years.

I was with you on the part that "this flooding never happened before", the media often explains the whole issue and science inaccurately and in overly alarmist terms (more accurately would be the frequency and odds of it happening are a little more and even then not a several times a year event by any means but still something of concern to deal with). But saying there's nothing to it at all is just as extreme.....a few anomolies mean nothing, climate is complex, the idea is to look at long term trends and they are pretty obvious, especially in regards to low temperature which even you semi-admit to.

YES!! Taste of fall in 5 days as the Jet stream dips south of us and Cool Dry Canadian air moves in.

THEN...………………. A bigger taste for beginning of next week?

Maps show the Upper level heights which dictates the surface pattern. Below normal during these time periods. Something similar which was happening back in July. That was awesome to see. Low moisture in the air and below normal temps.
