IMO its not possible to practice social distancing on most buses, since they are too small. I saw a bus this morning that was at least 25% full. I hope those people are commuting to essential jobs.

NYC itself was the first the do this with the boarding in the back of the bus and they also eliminated fares right now (subways do not have the fare waived before you ask).

Many low wage earners don't have a car. From what I know anecdotally in Hartford, many of those bus riders work at those essential places we don't want to close: grocery stores, Walmart, etc.

Some proportion of those that I would have infected had I actually had COVID would have presented with severe pneumonia. Even without testing, this would have been noticed, as severely ill people started showing up in ERs. It didn't happen, because whatever I had, it wasn't COVID.

The first COVID case was reported in CT on March 8th. It doesn't make sense that the virus would have been circulating widely for weeks before that.

Why? Population. It's prevalent in FFC and what I like to call "The Diamond" - an area formed by route 8, I95, I 84, and I91

those are the population centers of the state (and to a lesser extent the thames valley, which I bet will pick up soon)

Default New York cars being stopped at Rhode Island border

unfortunately this extreme has to be taken. New Yorkers are flocking to their summer homes along the Rhode Island coast, as they are in Connecticut. Police depts are using water records to see when water was turned on. If it was turned on in the last three weeks and they come from New York they will be asked to self quarantine for 14 days. Too many have been interacting in the communities. Rhode Island is willing to use extreme measures such as jail, fines and boots on vehicles.
