A mother, a grandmother and a few social workers won’t do it, children need an intact nuclear family, including a strong central father figure.
If you think El Salvador is a model of quality of life, perhaps you should give it a try for 6 months or so.

Number of social programs? No. Well funded and well executed social programs have impact.

The National Institute of Corrections has found that diversion programs for youth are significantly more successful than traditional juvenile justice systems in reducing recidivism (https://nicic.gov/resources/nic-libr...-meta-analytic).

You're functioning on political preferences and feelings. The facts disagree.

Based on raw numbers, this nation saw violent crime nosedive when 3 Strikes & You're Out was in force.

It sure reduced recidivism.

Why not both? diversion programs and traditionals?
I'll answer my own rhetorical questions - because it functions on political preferences and feelings

This is still a big problem in CT:

Teens tied to 5 vehicle break-ins and 1 stolen vehicle in Woodbridge
https://www.wfsb.com/2024/02/21/teen...le-woodbridge/

14 years old. 14!!!! I also read something quick about CT teens causing a ruckus over in RI. I wonder if their laws are similar.

Wonder if it was a Hyundai/Kia, the theft tutorial is on TikTok.

At the height of Covid in 2020 some kid was rummaging through cars in our neighborhood. Probably looking to see if anyone left keys. Before that I didn't get in the habit of always locking my car and he made a mess, but didn't take anything.

A neighbor caught him on their video doorbell. Looked about 14, white kid with shaggy hair. Driving a soccer mom SUV.

Your neighbor’s description is an uncommon example of the suspects committing these crimes. I’d be curious to see the Ring video.

Same happened to these people in a Farifield location. There were break ins and the Rings eventually spotted a kid in the area they all knew, even wearing a Ffld little league jersey. It was on the news. They were all posting about it everywhere.
Another break in happened in cars and the garage at a house near the beach. Turned it was the son's friends who knew they were away.

Welcome to CT folks! Paradise

Iv'e proposed new state anthems for CT here like Like a Rock, Rock Steady, even Sold as a Rock and Just Can't get Enough.
How about Paradise by the Dashboard Lights for all the state's youth?

The vast majority of suspects/offenders are black male juveniles. Do keep in mind ring doorbell and other platforms can distort description.
