My wind gusts past 24hrs, multiple times over 20mph become less frequent overnight and this morning.

Powerful 976mb low over Eastern Canada, 1004mb low over Illinois, 1020mb High over Florida

We're getting squeezed in between. The tighter the pressure gradient (white lines) the stronger the winds

Truely incredible how this happens in the Spring and not in December.

Yesterdays high temps around the region.

All three area NWS stations were about 5 F above normal (NWS Bridgeport's high was 5 F above normal). Most locations from the Tri-State area into the Middle Atlantic should be about 3 - 5 warmer today if forecast holds:

March 2024 is still in the running to be the 2nd warmest March in 75 years at NWS Bridgeport. There have been 4 days with below normal temps...and 25 days with above normal temps ! The last 4 days have been above normal at NWS Bridgeport, if the final 48 hrs stays the same, it seems like a lock:

Was in Atlanta the on Sat...just getting back to CT.

First, as to the chance of wintery precip later this week...it really seems like a l-o-n-g shot. While there seems a decent chance there WILL be a storm/low in or close to the Tri-State area, it looks to me mostly rain for locations south of Massachusetts. While there could be a some wet flakes mixed in at the outset inland (and still not amount to much), I would think it would be all rain in southern CT. NWS seems to be pointing that way. A few more days before we know for sure:

Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service New York NY
726 AM EDT Sun Mar 31 2024

ONG TERM /MONDAY NIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY/...

Rain is in the forecast Monday night through Thursday. Conditions
then trend drier Thursday night with dry conditions expected Friday
into Saturday. Potentially the rain could be heavy at times
especially for midweek. Elevated instability will present a
slight chance of thunderstorms as well around the middle of this
week, particularly near the coast. Wintry precipitation remains
possible as well for the interior while for the coast this
precipitation will be mainly plain rain

In the longer term...looks like CPC is still going with above normal temps for much of the eastern USA after this week. While it will be slightly cooler than normal Tue - Fri due to the showers and overcast conditions. Otherwise, no real below normal cold in sight according to CPC:
