I was at the Big Y this morning, and they had two kinds of sports-themed packaged peanuts for sale. They had the Yankees and the Red Sox. I purchased a bag of the Red Sox, just because these sports threads annoy the heck out of me. LOL! I will say, I do see Red Sox fans here in Fairfield County; there is one guy at my gym that has a RS license plate, stickers, etc. I've made a point of noticing people now when they advertise their teams, and there really are RS fans in Fairfield County.

I agree, I see Red Sox gear often here in Shelton. Still more Yankees stuff, but Sox are alive and well here in eastern FFC.

Go Yankees

"This could be partially due to people jumping on the band wagon because it was the same in the town we used to live in"

i noticed a lot more people wearing Sox gear after the miracle of 04 but my impression was they weren't necessarily bandwagon jumpers but probably life long Sox fans who avoided wearing gear in the past out of embarassment because the team always lost. now they suddenly had something to be proud about.

no most non red sox fans who arent from boston or a state thats close to boston are bandwagon fans.

parts of connecticut are close to boston. not fairfield county. if your a red sox fan in fairfield county you're either one of three things: 1). the son of a dad who says "your a new englandah! you will root for new englahnds teams! wicked hahd! chowdah! red sawks!" 2). a transplanted m******* or 3). a bandwagon fan.

does someone have an inferiority complex? You live in connecticut and claim to be a new yorker,in reality you are a new englander. What sports team you root for has nothing to do with the region you are from. I was born in queens(30th and ditmars is where i lived)and then moved to the bronx(riverside)but have been a life long RED SOX fan. Both my parents are from springfield and that is what i grew up on.(i also am a pats, bruins, revs and umass fan)
