I'm not surprised that Krispy Kreme closed but I am surprised that Jets closed.

Yeah that's a horrible location for anything. It's almost impossible to get out of that parking lot, especially if you want to turn left. I bet that building will stay empty for a while.

In my opinion more so product across the street was killing them. Dunkin Donuts drive thru out to Jefferson most mornings, lobby filled while Krispy Kreme was empty.
Dunkin wrecked them with better coffee and donuts.

Bad management I would guess...they recently changed management. I hate it, I really enjoyed Jet's Pizza from time to time.

...and more options. DD has more than just doughnuts and coffee, whereas KK is pretty much a one-horse show. Another thing is, KK barely advertised, wheras DD has billboards along I-40 advertising its Cookeville location. But really, KK is infamous for opening locations with a lot of fanfare then quietly closing them down a year or two later. I was in HongKong when KK opened there, and people were camped out overnight to get in there first thing in the morning. A couple of years later it closed. Same when I lived in the Vinings area in Atlanta where KK is now a Zoe's Kitchen. KK did the same with its Hendersonville store a couple of years ago, too.
Anyway, I'll miss the hot glazed doughnuts but everything else at KK is trash compared to Ralph's.
And from the mayor's Facebook page this morning:
As of 6am this morning, the corporate owned store is permanently closed. I drove to the store this morning and a man who identified himself as the Southeast market manager came to the locked door and said it was a “corporate business decision” to close. The City did not receive any notification of the closing. I’m more sad for the employees, our citizens, who were not given a notice or warning. The employees showed up to work this morning and didn’t have a job. The hot sign is off in a very COLD way to their Cookeville employees.

For me, the problem with Jets was its location. It was tucked away in the corner of a small shopping center, and I never thought about stopping there. Out of sight, out of mind. Plus, they didn't deliver out to my area anyway.
As for Anchor Down, I loved their burgers and nachos, but the service was always lousy for me, too. Plus, it probably didn't help them that Anchor Down had its liquor license suspended for selling alcohol to a minor.
