You may be right. Many people hypothesize that they are trying to get her California death certificate revoked so they can sue the hospital, doctors, etc. for her long term care costs, rather than a less lucrative accusation of wrongful death.

This 2013 thread has registered 1,011 posts & 85,048 views.

Impressive.

Among those thousands of posts, there is evidence of people who have been significantly impacted by Jahi. There are people who stated they changed their living wills & advanced directives. There are people who changed their minds about their own decisions & how they would view their decisions for their own loved ones.

There are people who have educated themselves. There are people who have been validated. Some people have struggled. Some people have shown great capacity for love & others have shown their true colors. And there are literally thousands who did not comment but may have resolved to do all of the above, or maybe nothing at all. But they did have to think about it, if even for a split second.

But that's just here on CD, isn't it? There are other forums & message boards. Blogs. Electronic media, newspaper, letters to the editor. Discussions at the water cooler. At the dinner table.

Me too, Eternal Member. As an RN, I've seen things that defy any clinical explanation & seem to evidence a miracle.

As a mother who has had to hold her own dead child to say goodbye; I have seen things that seemed to evidence a lack miracles.

But I just noticed that in 5 years; one little girl, in a suspended state of death has managed to impact an immeasurable amount of people. So, as a human; maybe I've been mistaken in my arrogance of thinking that miracles exist by my definition only?

Early on, the uncle said they weren’t going to settle for “chump change.”

Its pure selfishness when families keep someone in that state when clesrly they could not survive on their own without medical equipment. Why keep someonw like that when they are not actually alive on Their own?? They arent even living!

The long, sordid ordeal finally comes to a merciful end.

Jahi McMath, girl at center of brain death debate, has died after surgery, family says | Fox News

Quote:
Jahi McMath, the California teen whose family fought for her medical care after doctors declared her brain dead in December 2013, has died after she underwent surgery in New Jersey, relatives announced Thursday.

Her mother, Nailah Winkfield, said doctors declared McMath dead from excessive bleeding and liver failure after an operation to treat an intestinal issue. She died on June 22, the Bay Area News Group reported.

Thank the Good Dude they did. It was cruel to keep her the way she was.

I’m surprised too. I wonder what hospital it was, the stipulations going in as to her care, and if the mom will file against them too?

I’m glad she’ll finally be able to Rest In Peace.

RIP Jahi!

She's already been declared dead once. Do they have to file another death certificate?

I would like to see an autopsy showing the condition of her brain. Terry Schiavo’s certainly debunked a lot of theories.

I am very glad the child’s body finally can be buried. I hope New Jersey will change its laws to prevent future waste of taxpayers’ money on exercises in futility.
