Precisely. Again, where is the proof it wasn't the ruling Muslim Caliphate that destroyed it?

What type of an attitude is that.
Would you care if some lunatics decided to destroy Michelangelo's "David", or destroy the works of Rembrandt, van Gogh, Picasso, etc.?

It was not all that long ago the Taliban destroyed a statue almost 2000 years old because of their lunatic ideology;

BTW, I remember the first I ever heard of the Taliban, (before 911) was when they blew up 2 of the tallest statues of Buddha in Afghanistan.

Well said! I posted the same thing about those Buddhas, only using a different link!

The truth that ISIS is killing anyone who have other thoughts than their thoughts in religion not only Shii's or Azdi or Coptic but also Sunni Muslims if they have other thoughts, wake up man they are destroying Mosques and destroying graves from the grandsons of our prophet how you think for a second that muslims are with that or they inherently following Islam!
You are free to reject this truth.
This is not the first time a territory is governed by Islamists. It has happened many times since Muhammad. Hundreds of years and thousands of miles separate them across race, culture and language yet they do exactly the same things when they grab power. Coincidence? Hardly. They are reading from the same playbook. What ISIS says and does today Khomeini did 40 years ago in his Islamic Republic. His goons destroyed buildings and statues and banned music just like ISIS. Believe me, it is not a misunderstanding. To the extent that other Islamic countries don’t do it is because they are ignoring the Koran.

I love how the media is playing up ISIS selling these artifacts to finance their reign of terror while they provide no word at all about the 'non-lethal' aid provided by the US. You can get a replica Monet on ebay for $59.

Most Muslims do NOT support ISIS. Mainstream Muslims do not read the Koran as supporting terrorism or anything ISIS does.

By your logic, all Christian Protestants are responsible for what the IRA does.

The Crusades and the Inquisition were done by people who claimed to be Christian; does that mean that all Christians support torture and mass murder?

btw Muslim leaders in Turkey, the Kurdish area of Iraq and the USA are the ones who are telling the President of the United States and other world leaders to NOT refer to ISIS as Islamic. Because Turkey and the Kurds and Egypt and even Saudi Arabia reject ISIS. All the nations I just listed have taken military action against ISIS. The Kurds are fighting ISIS on the ground. The Kurds are Muslims too. All the groups fighting ISIS on the ground are Islamic groups. But like most Muslims they do NOT support ISIS. The Kurds love America and never attacked a single American during the occupation of Iraq. So this bigotry that I see displayed by some on this web site is very devolved, uncivilized and offensive.

I understand what you're saying - and it might not be politically correct to say so - but it seems to be that members of DAESH are Muslims. They may be violent, virulent, aggressive, destructive Muslims, but what they do, is in the name of a religious belief. That belief is Islam.
