Except they're not. Anti abortion fiction. Mothers are allowed to donate tissue to research. But hey, don't let the facts get in the way of your indignation.

And hunters are allowed to kill lions, take the head and skin, and leave carcass to rot.

Well, the majority rules, right?

The takeaway is that if people are destroyed for doing something that may be perfectly legal, but others don't like the practice and put their lives and businesses in jeopardy, then we aren't the country we used to be. The one that believes in innocence until proven guilty in a court of law. We are no better than a mob.

I agree with you about the mob thing, but there is no doubt this was illegal. It would have been much better IMO if he had gone to the authorities himself (as soon as they tracked and killed it, and saw the collar, they all knew it was not a legal kill - this guy is far from a novice). I think the fact he just high-tailed it home on the next plane leaving Cecil's remains to be found made it much worse, IMO.

So I do agree he should get his day in court and not trial by fire, but no way was this a legal kill, and for sure he knew, at least after the fact, that it wasn't.

His business was destroyed on Yelp before any details were published. "No doubt" sure.

You were part of that mob.

I'm not talking about Palmer. I'm talking about the mob mentality we have now that used to not be here. Notice I gave other examples from people on both sides of the political spectrum. To me it started with Joe the Plumber, who asked a candidate a question in a town hall setting, and then the media went after his character, the local tax office illegally released his records, all because he asked a question.

Last weekend a group of protesters wanted to protest in the neighborhood where the officer lived that arrested Sandra Bland. I know people that live in that neighborhood, and they are completely innocent in that matter. All it would have taken is a fight to erupt between the protesters and the homeowners or counter-protesters, and it could have sparked a riot in a residential neighborhood. Houses could have been burned and protesters could have been shot. I would have no problem with them protesting in front of his police station, or in front of the county jail where Bland took her own life, but not in his neighborhood. Why is this such a controversial position?

I don't approve of that, I just got done saying that. How does the above change the fact it was an illegal kill?
