It's interesting that a lot of white folks on this forum consider themselves to be the final arbiter of when minorities are entitled to be offended. Yet, for example, many of the same people get highly offended when the words "retarded" or "cripple" is used, because they are close to someone who is physically or mentally challenged. Why so sensitive? Unless you've walked a mile in a person's shoes . . . you know that saying.
Are many of the minorities overly sensitized? Oh, sure. But that tends to happen when you are mocked, threatened, discriminated against in many aspects of life because of your minority status all your life.
I guess I don't understand. You cannot change history, the fact is that in todays climate Starbucks would never buy coffee produced under such circumstances. How is artwork from that time period any more or less inappropriate? Do we need wipe out all reminders of past human errors due to hyper vigilant political correctness?
Where do you want me to deliver this lawn ornament - unless you already have one, of course.

No no I get it, and no I wouldn't want that lawn ornament But where does it end?
For a certain portion of the population, it will never end....the race crutch is a useful tool to blame shortcomings on, as opposed to looking in the mirror

It's victim mentality. I can understand years ago the racism that existed. Some races had a reason to complain. Incidentally many of them just kept quiet and worked hard to overcome the obstacles. This generation of whiners is just looking for a handout.

I must have missed where Thandie Newton asked for any sort of handout.

Take the Jews for example. They were damn near annihilated with 5-6 million of them being killed along with facing atrocities that were unimaginable. I have yet to meet one who has failed at life and blamed the Germans/Nazi's/Hitler for their shortcomings or failures in life. Instead they regrouped, worked hard and are a thriving force in today's world.
Yes slavery was bad but lets stop acting as if Blacks/African Americans were the only victims of slavery or atrocities throughout history. We just hear about it more because they refuse to let it go!
