Charities and everything? What an amazing individual. Truly.

Since you seem to know so much about her/admire her, how's her diamond ring shopping going?

Thandie Newton Engaged? - Mediamass

"On Saturday morning (January 9, 2016) the English Sun-Times reported Thandie Newton and boyfriend, to be shopping for engagement rings. The couple was seen closely eyeing some pricey bling in a couple of major jewelry stores — especially major diamond baubles that could only be described as the kind usually slipped on a woman’s left-hand ring finger."

Africa: Life near the mines - World news | NBC News

"During Sierra Leone’s 10-year civil war, children were often used as soldiers and workers in the rich Koidu diamond mines that funded the country’s rebels. USAID launched the Kono Peace Diamond Alliance in 2002 to try to improve the working conditions in the mines – particularly for children. But it is an uphill battle across Africa to get children who are either family breadwinners, or fending for themselves or conscripted into slave-like labor to stop working and go to school. "

Um, isn't that what she just did and you were talking about her "caring about child labor" because she tweeted about a statue in a starbucks?

That's kinda the point...tweeting about a statue doesn't mean anything.

Now if she'd tweeted "Don't buy abc coffee because they use child labor" then that would be a different thing.

It must be miserable being a black person, always a victim of boogeyman racism everywhere you look. Can't even get a cup of coffee without being mortally offended by cookies or whatnot.

How do you know she isn't involved? Perhaps 'tweeting' is one of her many ways of demonstrating her involvement?

Maybe you should read the comment I was responding to first...

And her tweet did mean something, as it got the offending statue removed.

She's a British actress and apparently the executives at Starbuck knew of her.
