A Washington woman who is 7.5 months pregnant with twins showed up to the Buzz Inn Steakhouse in Marysville wearing a black crop top that says "weirdo" and a long pink maxi skirt. She was turned away, the restaurant claiming her shirt violated their "no shirt, no shoes, no service" policy. Mom claims her outfit violated the health code, but the restaurant didn't appear to make that argument. Mom's livid and feels as if she's been body-shamed. If you watch the video there is a photo of her outfit that night.
I don't think her outfit is appropriate in general, not just for a restaurant or a pregnant person but for someone her age to be wearing out in public at all. But I do wonder if a slim teenager would have been turned away for wearing the same; despite what the restaurant claims, I have a feeling she wouldn't have been.
Anyway, the restaurant issued an apology. I'm curious what others think about this.
As an older female I think the outfit described is inappropriate for a pregnant female. That being said, I think that as long as her outfit covered what legally needed to be covered it is her right to wear what she is comfortable in and what makes her feel good.
I also think that if she had been slim, it would not have been an issue. If she was not cooking or serving in the restaurant, and as her breasts were covered then she most certainly was wearing a shirt.
People will do anything for media attention these days.
Weird how 99.99999% of pregnant women can go out without any issues or raising a fuss but that one wants to be special.
But that's the society we live in today. Go out looking/acting like a fool, get treated like a fool then try to play the victim card through the media/social media.
Back in MY day, decent pregnant women wore loose clothing to disguise their distended bellies.
Hussies today flaunt it in our faces. (saw a very pregnant woman in a bikini at the beach the other day).
(note: this is sarcasm)
I think part of my distaste for the exposed belly is my own body issues; it looks like fat, I wouldn't want to show my fat belly , how can she?
I guess I'd better get used to it, because customs change!
That crop top doesn't really qualify as a "shirt". The restaurant has a right to a dress code in order to eliminate tacky exhibitionists. Besides, she might sue them if she spilled hot coffee on the twins.
I think she looks great for 7.5 months pregnant with twins...but come on. That outfit is absurd. It was clearly attention seeking. Even if she didn't have a baby belly and her whole belly was sticking out like that, covered just to under the boobs, and then lower hips down, it wouldn't be an appropriate outfit for a restaurant setting.
I have no problem with people showing off their pregnant body, but that is really a stupid outfit to wear out and expect a restaurant to seat you. They might...but they also might not.

That's what I'm thinking, and as long as the restaurant is consistent with this, with all customers not just pregnant ones, then I see no issue with what happened here. While I find her outfit ridiculous and immature for a pregnant 35 year old (I read her age on another article), and really any 35 year old, I would find it a little messed up if the restaurant picked on her yet allowed other girls/women wearing crop tops in.
Maybe it does sound bad to say, but there's something about someone so pregnant wearing that outfit. It just makes it that much more inappropriate IMO. I mean, what is she thinking? If going for a walk at the beach, okay, but to go out to eat??
I think the outfit looks stupid, but I also feel like if she has just been a thin and non-pregnant women there would have been no issue. Who knows though
