ADA Def:

"An individual with a disability is defined by the ADA as a person who has a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities, a person who has a history or record of such an impairment, or a person who is perceived by others as having such an impairment."

EDIT: Found It:

"Southwest said there were two dogs on the plane, an emotional support dog and a pet. The woman told flight staff that she had a life-threatening pet allergy. "

I wonder if she will sue for some ADA violation.
She didn't have any documentation of her condition.

If so, she over-played her hand. Saying the life-threatening thing guaranteed her removal,, as has been mentioned. The airline can't let her stay after saying that and risk liability if her claim is true.

Way too many damn dogs in public. We can't ban them, but we should restrict them more.

Question Who has a "a life-threatening pet allergy" and no documentation?

Daulatzai is being charged with failure to obey a reasonable and lawful order, disturbing the peace, obstruction of a police officer, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

I've only found two cases of potentially life threatening dog allergies, including one incident (2008) where it was fatal; in that case her contact with the dog was a lot more intimate than just being on the same airplane.

Anybody I know who has a life-threatening XYZ allergy, has documentation and carries their own medication, epipen, etc. TSA allows passengers to carry on as many prescription allergy medications, inhalers, nebulizers, and the like as they can fit in their carry-on bag.

Agreed. I would not.

I am in shock at this...I have never seen anything like this ...I mean
except on news footage of a riot in the streets, maybe.

I happen to know to ALWAYS acquiesce to police...this woman probably has never
had an encounter close to this. Her ego/indignation took over.
You do not get 'your own way' with any sort of logic/reasoning or anger when police are involved.
Ya just do what they say...with a smile.
it's the only way out of it...and it bodes well to the judge later!
My little rant...

That is simply not true. Emotional Support Animals are NOT afforded the same rights as Service Dogs.

Because the airlines are afraid of the backlash, I think. The folks that demand free air travel for their pets by purchasing fake credentials online could, and would, create a PR nightmare.

No it's not.
I'll kiss *s* any day to save a multi-million $ suit!
And to not lose millions in customers.
Sure, she's wrong....but, it's wrong to have an ego as big as hers resulting in losing millions, also.
