No, some early reports called the area a "children's play area" and people expressed shock that a window was wide open, endangering children in the play area.

Of course, that wasn't the situation at all.

Yes, I posted a very similar link yesterday.

Those links say Grandpa is adamant about not taking the plea deal.

I was wondering if there was a link that TeacherTerry described, that said he was considering it.

Even though I wasn't there and have absolutely no evidence to back up my suspicions, I do think alcohol and the poor judgment it brings may have been involved.
The word motivation was a poor choice because that means intent to kill. I was thinking why he would be careless and there really is no motivation to be careless. But there was no motivation to be careful and that was the point of view I was coming from.

But if there was no motivation, I can go along with poor judgment and alcohol as being a cause.

I don’t know how to copy and post with my phone but it was a CBS news from yesterday. Yes I also wonder if he was drinking.

The article clearly says that he doesn't want a plea deal, but is considering it.

"It's firm that he is innocent and he does not want to plea," Perez said, but added that Anello is considering the deal.

The lawyer for the family was adamant both verbally and in print this happened within a childs play area- which of course is false.

I don’t think RCCL is culpable, just saying that a conviction would not mean the lawsuit can or will go away.
Thank you, JerseyGirl415. This is what I've been trying to figure out.

But the crazy part of the alcohol theory is that the ship hadn't even set sail yet, had it? I guess there's that possibility he had a few pre-departure drinks, but it's anyone's guess. I wouldn't count on Sam Anello to be truthful at this point; he hasn't proven himself to be the most credible person.

If he had drinks, isn't that a known fact? Wouldn't the cruise ship require you to scan something?
