I'm writing that down in my book of Famous Last Words.
I have four dowries: 16 chickens, 4 goats, and 8 pigs.
Save on weddings: They're all getting married by Elvis in Las Vegas for $69.
In college I tell them not to worry about earning a practical degree: Just hit the gym and get tight then hang out at the Medical School library and meet a future Dr. Right. A man will marry the best looking woman he can afford.
I'm glad the childfree are being recognized. We're reducing the burden on the planet and creating space for those who truly want children to have more of them if they want to. Your future grandchildren will have more to eat and drink because my future grandchildren will never exist.
It's also good because people should know how wonderful this lifestyle is. I have so much less stress than a lot of people I know who are raising kids. I'm spending my summer traveling all over California and hiking to waterfalls and watching sunsets and just relaxing. It's great. I do think this lifestyle is better for natural loners and introverts who prefer lots of quiet time, though. I could see how more extroverted or "people person" types might enjoy having family with them. I've always preferred being alone so it's perfect for someone like me.

Yeah I think that's awful, myself. Expecting your kids to care for you when you're old is placing a huge burden on them. Never would I ever want my niece or nephew, or my own kids if I had them, to take care of me. I'd rather die than be a burden on someone I love.

If you live a long time and draw social security, my children will be funding you. And when you go to the hospital when you're 90, my kids and grandkids will provide your medical care. ;D
And although you say you don't want your niece and nephew to take care of you, or your non existant children, SOMEONE'S children/grandchildren will be taking care of you.

And this person is funding a senior persons care also. It's a big cycle of life.
I did not know it was International Childfree Day!
I am a Childfree person. I never ever had the urge to have kids. Just so foreign to me. I am glad that my mom told me to do what i wanted to do, not think i had to get married and have kids etc. She was born in the 1920s. She said if she had been born a man, she would have gotten an education, had a good job, traveled and enjoyed life. She was a great mom, and just realized what her circumstance in life was and made the most of it.
My roommate - a male - says he never wanted kids, but things happened - what the heck i tell him! I don't say anything to the females that tell me they wished they had not had kids. We grew up in the 70s and i think a lot of them were pushed into marriage and children by their parents. They didn't know any different. I thankfully was not. Thanks MOM and DAD!!!
It's only been the human social security for 69 thousand years.
Unless there's a nearby ice floe.
Eh, at least you'll get to see penguins and seals close-up.
