Drove by the Frisco one about an hour and a half ago and the stone work is just about done on the bottom half of the building. It looks like an In n Out now! It would have been perfect for lunch but I hit up Whataburger instead - for obvious reasons...

Any one know if they'll be doing the In n Out catering trucks out here? My wife had a great idea for my 30th b-day. She suggested we rent out Franconia Brewery for a party and get the In n Out truck to cater it. We originally were going to get the in n out truck for our wedding when we lived in CA but we decided to go to Vegas instead. It is surprisingly reasonable price wise to get them to cater.

Dont think I'll be trying In-N-Out once I saw they use some sort of Thousand Island dressing in lieu of ketchup, mustard or mayo (sorry but that dressing and on a burger makes me ill). Also, isnt that pretty much a Big Mac anyway? I was already warned about the fries from others, but was willing to give the burgers a shot. Not now unless someone can enlighten me I guess I'll just try the shakes.

Always welcome new business to the area, but I hope the company doesn't get too extended or else we have another Krispy Kreme on our hands (big hype, long lines and media at opening, then dies off soon thereafter, closing locations).

You CAN ask for your burger without the special dressing and get it with mustard or ketchup. I actually LIKE the sauce, it's yummy.

What about the fries? They are cut fresh just before they are cooked. What did someone warn you about concerning them? That they are hot?

In-n-Out is NOT Krispy Kreme. Far cry. Imho, In-n-Out could open a location here in BFE with not a single house or business around for miles and they would do just fine and have lines all the time until the end of time.

They'll make the burger however you want. Their calorie guide on their website even shows a burger with ketchup and mustard versus spread. (I don't care if you try it though, do whatever floats your boat!)

I hate thousand island dressing on salad but do enjoy it on hamburgers. I got the taste for it from in'n'out and the cafe I used to work in in college. What I despise on burgers is mustard! I feel it covers up rather than enhances the nice beefy flavor.

I remember the thousand island dressing on a Kip's Big Boot double decker burger.

Ok that makes me feel a bit better about the sauce. Thanks for the response. Sorry if my tone came off kilter there, didnt mean to come off that way. I had a co-worker who used to live out west and loves fries and she was not thrilled with them. She said they got cold quick and were soggy and the burgers were OK. I'm more of an onion ring person anyway, so fries are not that big deal for me.

I've never been to Kip's, Panterra! Where is that?

IF you bother with the in'n'out fries, IMHO they must be ordered well-done. They're still not worth the calories though in my book.

I'm not Panterra, but I can tell you that Kip's has been gone for many years. Home of the Big Boy which was kinda like a Big Mac.

There are still Big Boy's I believe on the west coast in and in some parts of Canada. I always see their ads on the boards of hockey games from those areas.

I remember going to Kip's and getting a hot fudge sundae w/ extra hot fudge (and their hot fudge WAS HOT! ) in the little side metal container to keep adding. YUM!!!

There was one on Forest @ Marsh Ln and one on Belt Line just west of Josey.

Here is the trick with eating burgers and fries from In-N-Out-

EVERYTHING IS FRESH- not put under a light to keep warm- MADE TO ORDER FRESH. When you order you eat it- you don't let it sit a get cold. Then yes the fries are gross.....

In-N-Out employees cut the tomatoes and onions by hand, tear the lettuce by hand, skin and cut the potatoes with a old fashion fry marker. ALL BURGERS ARE MADE TO ORDER- never pre made.
Milk shakes are just that fresh made with ice cream and milk.

It has a different taste all together. BECAUSE EVERYTHING IS FRESH. What is not used that day gets disposed of and they start all over again the next day.

People in the fast food world might think it taste different then Whata"Joke" or Jack in the "Crack" it does because ITS FRESH!
