Here's my take on Denver weather. I grew up on Long Island and lived 7 years in (yawn) Virginia Beach. I moved to Denver 5 years ago because I just couldnt take another humid day!

It is dry! However, I've never seen any adverse affects physically. Some people complain about really dry skin or eyes, I've never really dealt with that. Everyones reaction to on average 40% humidity is different.

It can get hot here in the Summer. You could expect atleast one week of temperatures over 100 degrees for the high.

When it rains, the rain is COLD! It could be 98 degrees out and it rains and its cold. But at that temperature the cold rain is awesome.

It can also get down into the single digits in the winter. But that damn sun will be out the whole time.

Whats really awesome is in January we can get temps in the 70s because of the Chinook winds.

It's windy here! Not as bad as Wyoming...but there are days when it can be pretty damn windy.

There are weeks on end when the sun never goes away. Day after day of bright warm sunshine. When it does actually rain or snow...I rejoice!

Thunderstorms are awesome!!! I love the late afternoon thunderstorms in the summer. You can watch them roll in off the mountains and it can pour inches of precipitation.

Tornadoes usually come and go out on the eastern plains.

If you love the four seasons, you will absolutely love Denver weather!

Sister, if you were in the sun and it was 60 you'd be sweating. The sun is intense.

You will long for Florida once you move to Colorado. There will be moments when you will
long for its spanish moss, thick scent of vegetation, and other Florida features. Wait, that's Northern Florida I'm talking about, perhaps you are from the South of the state.
Either way, you are dissing Florida's boring climate now, but it will come back and haunt you. I think about Florida from time to time, although I love it here in Colorado, as well.
I used to live in Tallahassee. I couldn't wait to get out of there and head out West where
the landscape is open.

I've found that whenever I move, I miss something about the old place, even if I thought I hated it there.

I view Southern California as I would an ex-wife. We had some good times together, and in some ways I still miss her, but I just can't live with her.

I experience the same phenomenon. Places I couldn't wait to get out of
have come back to play with me at unexpected moments, and make me wish I were there again. It makes me wish I could have a house in each of these
places. I hate it that I can only afford to live in one place. The other night I was reading the newspaper, and I saw a picture of a man standing with a long sea kayak. The picture overwhelmed me with a longing to be back in
Bellingham, Washington where I lived for a summer. The place is isolated
and boring, and so I left for something more suitable. Yet at times I miss it.
I finally made a list of the places that continue to reoccur in my memory
and one day I will probably chose from one of them to return. I don't know
if I would miss Colorado the way I miss these other places. But who knows.
I have been here five years now.

We moved away after eight years. Prior to our move, I felt much as you do about CO. But we missed it so much we came back, and have been here another 18. My kids love it. Both went out of state to college, one came back for grad school, one transferred back to finish undergrad at CU.

I hear you on THAT one! I never thought I'd have to put a sweater on when it was 70 degrees, but I do! I even have to turn the heater on in my car.
